Selamat Datang and Welcome to Batik&Bubbles, the quirky brainchild of Farena and Yiga!
Curious and inquisitive by nature, we've always sought out interesting places & people and enjoyed sharing treasured finds within our close circle of friends.
Farena Fatah Cooper is a London born Malaysian mother of two who is an avid foodie, traveler and shop-aholic. Aside from freelancing in PR and marketing communications, she's a fan of reading grisly thrillers, doing yoga and singing bad karaoke in her spare time.
Yiga, a native of California and the Himalayas, has worked in the field of Public Health for ten years, the past seven in Malaysia. A self-professed neophile, she's a bit of a travel nut, hiking enthusiast, occasional yogini, and voracious silverfish in her consumption of books.
A few years back we, together with a board of wonderful women, created a women's network called M-Privé and held a number of events, power lunches and gatherings that catered to young, professional females in Kuala Lumpur. M-Privé wound down as work and the happy demands of family life increased, but the desire to stay creative lingered. After throwing about the idea of starting our own blog and finding ways to infuse what we loved best about M-Privé, we finally decided: NOW.
Now is the right time to share the gems we find beyond our circles & hopefully, meet new kindred spirits in Kuala Lumpur & beyond!
